🐾 1. What is Barkodo?
Barkodo is a rescue initiative dedicated to saving, rehabilitating, and rehoming bully breed dogs. We focus on spreading love and awareness about these misunderstood but lovable dogs.
🐶 2. What do you mean by “bully breeds”?
“Bully breeds” include breeds like Pit Bulls, American Bulldogs, Bull Terriers, and Staffordshire Terriers, among others. These breeds often face discrimination, and our mission is to give them a second chance.
🏠 3. How can I adopt a dog from Barkodo?
You can visit our “Adopt a Dog” page, browse available dogs, and fill out the Adoption Application Form. Once submitted, our team will review your application and contact you for the next steps.
📄 4. What are the requirements to adopt a dog?
- Must be 21 years or older
- A stable home environment
- Willingness to provide lifelong care
- Landlord permission (if renting)
- Home visit or virtual interview (case-by-case)
💰 5. Is there an adoption fee?
Yes, there is a small adoption fee that helps cover the cost of vaccinations, microchipping, neutering/spaying, and basic care. The exact fee depends on the dog and will be mentioned in the adoption listing.
🩺 6. Are the dogs vaccinated and healthy?
Yes! All dogs are vet-checked, vaccinated, and treated for any health issues before adoption. We also provide you with the medical history and care instructions.
🕊️ 7. Do you allow international or out-of-state adoptions?
We currently focus on local/regional adoptions to ensure smooth transitions and post-adoption support. If you’re far away but committed, reach out — we may be able to arrange something!
